Sweet Baboo / June 2017 UK Tour

Stephen Black, who records under the endearing nom de plume Sweet Baboo, releases a new album tomorrow. ‘Wild Imaginations’ will be available on the 2nd of June from Moshi Moshi Records. I’ve got some good news for you if you live in the UK: he has a series of dates this month to support the new LP. Nearly a week’s worth of live shows begins on the 13th of June at Ramsgate Music Hall. Tickets are on sale now. In addition to the title track single shared a few weeks back, Black is previewing the new record with another track, the uber-funky ‘Pink Rainbow’, which you can have a listen to under the tour date listing. The Divine Comedy / November and December 2017 UK/Irish Tour

Neil Hannon’s very existence will always be linked to the band he has fronted and masterminded for over 2 decades, The Divine Comedy. Last year, he released ‘Foreverland’, the 11th Divine Comedy album. My review of it before its September 2016 release is through here. Saint Etienne / June 2017 UK Tour

Bob Stanley, Pete Wiggs and Sarah Cracknell, known collectively as long-soldiering dance pop band Saint Etienne, will be releasing their ninth album on Friday. ‘Home Counties’ is a love letter to the London commuter belt where they were born and raised, and the new long player will be available from Heavenly Recordings / PIAS on the 2nd of June. (Stay tuned for a review of the LP by me later this week.) Following an appearance at Primavera Festival Wednesday in Barcelona, they return to Britain to being a new UK tour in London to support their new record. Tickets to this tour are on sale now, as are shows in North America in September and October; for all their appearances announced so far for this year, visit their official Web site. Royal Blood / November 2017 UK/Irish Tour

Brighton hard rock duo Royal Blood have announced a new UK and Ireland tour for the second half of November. This tour will follow a handful of dates on the Continent in late October into early November. Tickets to this arena tour will go on general sale at 9 AM next Friday, the 26th of May. The duo, comprised of Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher, are gearing up, to release their second album ‘How Did We Get So Dark?’ on the 16th of June on Warner Brothers. Lucy Rose / December 2017 English Tour

In a touring scheme similar to what Teleman did a few years back, Lucy Rose will be playing a series of shows in libraries. She has announced five shows in December in England, which are all already on sale. A few weeks ago, we shared with you Lucy’s track ‘Is This Called Home’, from her upcoming album ‘Something’s Changing’, out on the 14th of July. Tim Burgess and Charlatans will be hitting the road this winter in the UK. They’ll be touring in support of their newest album ‘Different Days’, which drops on the 26th of May on BMG.
