MP3(s) of the Day #768: Phoenix

By on Monday, 15th July 2013 at 10:00 am

French electro / rock poppers Phoenix were featured last week on Rolling Stone when A-Trak‘s remix of their current single ‘Trying to Be Cool’. You can grab that remix here. Because their 2009 album ‘Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’ spawned a whole host of buzzworthy remixes (including one by Delphic of ‘Fences’ that we posted yonks ago), I wondered what other free versions there might be out there of this song. Grab the ones by RAC, Soul Clap and Breakbot below. And should you have forgotten what the original sounds like, head over to this previous live gig video post.

MP3 of the Day #350: Noah and the Whale

Have a listen to RAC‘s remix of this Noah and the Whale song. This version of ‘Tonight’s the Kind of Night’ is even more poppy than the original, if that’s possible. Listen and download it below.

Noah and the Whale hit the road in October in the UK – details here.

MP3 of the Day #342: Two Door Cinema Club

By on Wednesday, 25th May 2011 at 10:00 am

I think this is a first for TGTF. Yesterday, we posted a remix done by Alex Trimble of Two Door Cinema Club of a Young the Giant song (here). Today, we have for you a remix of Two Door’s ‘Something Good Can Work’ by Portland’s RAC. Piano is prominent in this version, and amusedly (to me) it’s been turned house. Love it? Hate it? Let us know in the comments.
