Michael Kiwanuka / October 2016 UK/Irish Tour

London soul musician Michael Kiwanuka has unveiled a list of live dates in the UK and Ireland for this October, following a slate of festival appearances around the release of his second album ‘Love & Hate’. The album will drop on the 27th of May on Polydor Records, but you can watch the video for its first single ‘Black Man in a White World’ just below the tour date listing.

Tickets for the following live dates will be available this Friday, the 8th of April, at 9 AM. Ahead of the tour dates listed below, Kiwanuka will perform at The Great Escape in Brighton in May, the Latitude Festival in July, and the Boardmasters Festival in Cornwall in August. Spring King / May 2016 English Tour

Garage rock / pop band Spring King have announced a May 2016 headline tour of England, which concludes with a show at London Scala on the 26th presented by DIY. The Manchester group recently revealed the promo video for ‘Rectifier’, their newest single; we posted the vid in this previous Video of the Moment feature. Tickets to this tour are on sale now. The band have also been announced for the bills of both Live at Leeds on the 20th of April and the Great Escape on the 19th of May.

The Joy Formidable / May 2016 UK Tour

Following on from their short tour in February, hard-rocking Welsh band and TGTF friends The Joy Formidable have announced an appropriately formidable headline tour for May 2016. The trio’s tour includes stops at Focus Wales in Wrexham on the 12th of May and at the Great Escape in Brighton on the 19th. Tickets to the gig dates on this upcoming journey around the UK go on sale today, Friday, the 4th of March, at 10 AM. YAK / May 2016 UK Tour

London-based psych rock trio YAK have announced a May headline tour of the UK, following their trip to America for SXSW 2016 in March. Their debut album ‘Alas Salvation’ is due out on the 13th of May on Octopus Electrical/Kobalt and will include ‘Hungry Heart’, which was released in the form of a single last year. You can watch the video for ‘Hungry Heart’ just below the tour date listing.

At the end of this week, YAK will head out on tour supporting King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.  Their busy tour schedule will see them play a handful of American headline dates in March before they head back across the pond for the following shows. Villagers / January and February 2016 UK/Irish Tour

Conor J. O’Brien and Villagers will begin 2016 with a tour of Ireland and the UK in support of Villagers’ new album ‘Where Have You Been All My Life?’ The album, billed as a distillation of “five years and three albums of Villagers songwriting into one flowing narrative”, is out now on Domino Records. If you fancy a quick review of Villagers’ back catalogue before you listen to the new album, you can find TGTF’s archive of previous coverage on the band right here.

Villagers will play live dates in Ireland through the end of January before crossing the Irish Sea for a run of February shows, including a date at Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London. Scheduled dates in Belfast and Dublin have already sold out, but tickets for the remaining shows listed below are available now.

The Elena Tonra-fronted, Communion-associated trio Daughter have announced a massive UK tour in early 2016 to begin a new European campaign to support their second album ‘Not to Disappear’. The new album, out the 15th of January 2016 on 4AD in the UK and Glassnote Records in North America, is the hotly-anticipated follow-up to 2013’s ‘If You Leave’.
