Leeds hard rockers Pulled Apart by Horses have announced a brand new single and a tour of the UK for next spring. The new track is called ‘The Big What If’ and is set to feature on Pulled Apart by Horses’ forthcoming LP, due out some time in 2017. But you can have a sneak listen to the audio for ‘The Big What If’ right now, just below the tour date listing.

Tickets for the following March and April live shows are available now. In the middle of the spring headline tour, Pulled Apart by Horses will make a stop at the 2Q Festival in Derby on the 1st of April. A bird is three things:
Feathers, flight and song,
And feathers are the least of these.
– Marjorie Allen Seiffert, “The Shining Bird”

On Tuesday, Oxford folk-pop quartet Stornoway made this surprise announcement that they will disband early next year, so that band members Brian Briggs, Jon Ouin, and Rob and Oli Steadman might pursue other individual interests. The news is quite sad for us here at TGTF, where Stornoway have been long-time favourites, but the announcement comes with a happy twist for the band’s UK fans, in the form of a Farewell Tour scheduled for next February and March.

Support for the following live dates will be played by Canadian indie rock band Brasstronaut, and tickets will be available beginning Friday the 28th of October at 10 AM. Just below the tour date listing, you’ll find Stornoway’s final promo video, a rare track from their ‘Bonxie’ recording sessions titled ‘Night Drive’.

TGTF’s extensive archive of coverage on Stornoway is collected here.

Little Comets / February and March 2017 UK Tour

By on Thursday, 29th September 2016 at 9:00 am

North East DIY group and firm TGTF favourites Little Comets have announced their fourth album ‘WORHEAD’ will be released at the beginning of February 2017 on their own Smallest Label. Naturally, they have announced live dates in the UK to support the new release. Both the album will be on presale (including some promised very special versions – ooh!) and tour tickets will be on sale starting tomorrow, Friday, the 30th of September at 10 AM. We’ve written quite a bit about the Geordie band since their humblest beginning in the late Noughties, so there’s a bit of a treasure trove of TGTF coverage on them this way.
