The Dears / October 2017 UK/Irish Tour

Montreal indie rock duo The Dears have announced a UK and Irish tour for this autumn, in support of their new album ‘Times Infinity Volume Two’. The new LP is due out on the 14th of July and includes the rather shockingly titled single ‘I’m Sorry That I Wished You Dead’. Have a listen to the stream just below the tour date listing.

Ahead of the UK and Irish shows, The Dears have scheduled a one-off date at Montreal’s La Tulipe for the 15th of September. Check their official Facebook for a full listing of upcoming shows. Barns Courtney / September and October 2017 UK Tour

If you read our recent review of Barns Courtney‘s new single ‘Golden Dandelions’, you’ll have seen already that the English-American rocker had announced a pair of shows in Scotland for this autumn, following the summer festival season. Courtney has now announced a fully-fledged UK tour, including those two Scottish shows in September and a date at London’s Dingwalls on the 5th of October.

Tickets for the following shows will go on sale tomorrow, Tuesday, the 20th of June. The weather might be cold, but we’ve got something to warm the cockles of your heart and for the next few weeks. Our friends at Gigs and Tours have given us a few pairs of tickets to a tour I can personally attest to being one of the hottest tickets in town. White Lies will be supporting their newest album ‘Friends’ released last autumn on a headline UK tour starting the 23rd of February in Newcastle. You can read my full report from the Washington, DC show last Wednesday at the 9:30 Club here. We’ve got a pair each to their Newcastle (the 23rd of February), Sheffield (the 24th of February) and Hull (the 3rd of March) gigs.

VANT / February and March 2017 UK/Irish Tour

Punk rock protest quartet VANT have announced a headline tour of the UK and Ireland to follow the upcoming release of their debut album ‘Dumb Blood’. The LP is due for release on the 17th of February via Parlophone and will feature the band’s 2016 single ‘Peace & Love’. Frontman Mattie Vant says of the upcoming tour, “Every time we play a show it’s a form of activism, a form of protest. For me, rock music has always gone hand in hand with making a stand, being at the forefront of a movement and trying to change the world.”

Rat Boy / April and May 2017 UK Tour

Jordan Cardy, a Hip-hop and punk artist and producer better known under his pseudonym Rat Boy, has announced his biggest UK tour to date. And we mean biggest: this series of dates culminates in a massive show at London’s Roundhouse on the 6th of May. Why all the fuss? We hear that new Rat Boy material is on its way to being unveiled, so keep your ears close to the ground. (You know, because you know, rats, they have short little legs…I know, bad joke.) Menace Beach / January and February 2017 UK Tour

Leeds rock band Menace Beach, co-fronted by Liza Violet and Ryan Needham, have announced their sophomore album ‘Lemon Memory’, due out next Friday, the 20th of January, on Memphis Industries. Named for a “citrus based curse” said to have been placed on Ryan and Liza’s house, the album opens with the macabre ‘Give Blood’, which is streaming at the bottom of this page.

Immediately following the release of ‘Lemon Memory’, Menace Beach will set out on tour through the UK, including stops in London and Glasgow and a homecoming show in Leeds. Tickets are on sale now. Then in March, Menace Beach will make their American debut at SXSW 2017, so keep an eye out for TGTF’s coverage from Austin.
