Cut Copy‘s single ‘Meet Me in a House of Love’ may have met its match. The Aussie synth band’s grooveathon has been remixed by NYC producer TJANI, who has turned it into a deep house soon-to-be classic. Have a listen below in the Soundcloud widget, and it’s free for the taking if you like it.

Our previous coverage on Cut Copy is right this way.

MP3 of the Day #848: The Lost Brothers

By on Friday, 8th August 2014 at 10:00 am

Some partnerships are just meant to be. Such is the case with the Lost Brothers, a singer/songwriter folk duo comprised of Mark McCausland and Oisin Leech, who both sing and play guitar. They took me by surprise, wowing me at the NI@SXSW night at SXSW 2013. So I was very pleased to learn they have a new album, ‘New Songs of Dawn and Dust’, to be released on the 21st of September on Lojinx Records.

Ahead of that, they’re giving away album track ‘Gold and Silver’ for free. The song showcases their beautiful Irish voices melding in perfect harmony with the backdrop of gently played acoustic guitars. Listen to the song below and if you like it, grab it for your very own, no strings attached.

Celebrated Danish indie pop duo The Asteroids Galaxy Tour will be releasing their studio album ‘Bring Us Together’ on Rough Trade in September. Ahead of that, they want you to have the title track from the album for free. Framed by bluesy piano, the vocals make it classic Asteroids Galaxy Tour. Listen to the track below and if you like it, go here to download the mp3.

Live Gig Video: Hozier’s duet with Karen Cowley ‘In a Week’ at Kilkenny Castle

By on Tuesday, 29th July 2014 at 4:00 pm

Soulful Irish songwriter Hozier has released another teaser for his highly anticipated debut album, which is scheduled for release on the 22nd of September. This live version of ‘In a Week’, sung as a duet with fellow Irish singer Karen Cowley, was recorded at Kilkenny Castle in Ireland and filmed by Feel Good Lost Media. (I was lucky enough to hear a live performance of the song earlier this year at SXSW 2014; read my thoughts on it here.)

You can view the video for for the earthy yet delicate live version of ‘In A Week’ below or at the dedicated Web site http://www.hozier-inaweek.com. If you go to the Web site and share the video with your Facebook friends or Twitter followers, you’ll receive a free download of the audio in your e-mail inbox.

MP3 of the Day #846: Glass Animals

By on Monday, 28th July 2014 at 10:00 am

Glass Animals have quickly become a favourite among the staff here at our site, with their debut album ‘Zaba’ rarely leaving the turntable at TGTF Towers this summer. (Read my review of the album here.) The Oxford band just released a new EP last week on Wolf Tone Records.

Based around ‘Zaba’ track and single ‘Pools’ (promo video here), the five-track release includes the original version of the song, a studio version (finally) of the band’s untouchable cover of Kanye West’s ‘Love Lockdown’, and three very different remixes by German producer Marius Lauber (aka Roosevelt), Jackson and His Computer Band (say hello to your favourite new heart-pumping gym remix via Parisian producer Jackson Fourgeaud) and London’s Kwes (wonky beats ahoy).

You can listen to all the songs from the EP on their Spotify Emerge page. To celebrate the release of the EP, the band are giving away for free the Roosevelt remix ‘Pools’, which somehow manages to take the already cheerful and perfect for summer song and make it even brighter and bouncier. To get the remix for free, visit Glass Animals’ official Web site, hit the Free Download button and sign up for their mailing list to get a link to your free download.

Glaswegian synth poppers Prides have something very special for us this Friday morning. The trio have chosen to put their own spin on the Cyndi Lauper ’80s tearjerker classic ‘Time After Time’, deciding to take a stripped back route. Listen to the free download exclusively here on TGTF below and if you like it, you can take it home with you too.
