The hits just keep coming from Glastonbury 2014. This time, it’s Manchester The 1975, who I had the wonderful luck in meeting at SXSW 2013 and a couple days later at the 200-capacity DC9 in Washington. Now they’re playing the Pyramid Stage at Glasto? Unreal. Watch their performance of ‘Robbers’ below.

Over the last 2 years, we’ve watched the meteoric rise of Nottingham singer/songwriter Jake Bugg, and he’s still a lad in many ways. But perhaps you should say now that with headlining a stage at Glastonbury 2014 – the Other Stage Saturday night, to be exact – that the lad’s all grown up. Here he is performing ‘What Doesn’t Kill You’, in his usual rapid fire way, in the video below.

The announcement of Metallica as one of the three Pyramid Stage headliners at Glastonbury 2014 was met with cheers or derision, depending on which side of the hard rock line you fell on. Judge for yourself how well they did closing out Saturday night at Worthy Farm from the performance of ‘One’ below.

Ah yes, MGMT, the band we can blame for forcing every band since 2007 to think they need a synthesiser. It seems like ‘Oracular Spectacular’ was released just yesterday, doesn’t it? It’s kind of weird thinking about it now, that ‘Kids’ made its premiere 7 years ago. But the punters at Glasto 2014 were ready for it, as you will see from the video of MGMT’s headline set at the John Peel Stage Saturday below.
