Sundara Karma / February 2017 UK Tour

Alt-pop up-and-comers Sundara Karma will embark on a UK headline tour this February, to follow their support slot on Two Door Cinema Club‘s current UK tour. The headline dates also follow the release of Sundara Karma’s debut LP ‘Youth is Only Ever Fun in Retrospect’, which we recently reviewed right back here. Ahead of their headline tour, Sundara Karma will play a handful of in-store shows interspersed among their Two Door Cinema Club support engagements. Check the band’s official Facebook for a full list of their upcoming shows; tickets for the following dates are available now. They’re also scheduled to appear at SXSW 2017, so we’ll be looking out for them in Austin in March.

British Sea Power / April 2017 UK Tour

Brighton art-rock group British Sea Power have just announced the upcoming release of their sixth studio album ‘Let the Dancers Inherit Their Party’. Breaking from their five-album relationship with Rough Trade Records, the band will release the new album on their own Golden Chariot label, via Caroline International, on the 31st of March. Those of you in the UK can listen to album single ‘Bad Bohemian’ just below the tour date listing; unfortunately, the stream hasn’t been made available in America.

Palace / April 2017 UK/Irish Tour

London alt-rock quartet Palace will spend almost the entire month of April 2017 on tour in the UK and Ireland in support of their recent debut album release ‘So Long Forever’. The album’s current single is called ‘It’s Over’, and its promo video is streaming just below the tour date listing.

Before their long list of UK live dates, Palace will spend the last part of March touring in continental Europe; you can find a full list of Palace’s upcoming shows on their official Facebook. Richard Ashcroft / April and June 2017 UK Tour

Former frontman of the Verve and now veteran alt-rocker in his own right Richard Ashcroft has announced a brief arena tour of the UK for next April, to follow his upcoming shows at the Liverpool Echo Arena on the 7th of December and the London O2 on the 9th of December. Ashcroft will postscript the newly listed April tour dates with a special headline show at Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl as part of mini-festival Sounds of the City.

Back in May, Ashcroft released his new album ‘These People’, which includes the recent single ‘Out of My Body’. You can watch the promo video for ‘Out of My Body’ just below the tour date listing.

Tickets for the following live shows will be available for general sale tomorrow, Friday, the 2nd of December at 9:30 AM. Final tickets for Ashcroft’s December shows in Liverpool and London are available now. TGTF’s previous coverage of Richard Ashcroft is just through here.

Laura Marling / March 2017 UK Tour

Laura Marling has announced the release of her sixth studio album ‘Semper Femina’ for the 10th of March next year, as well as a list of UK live dates to coincide with the album release. ‘Semper Femina’ follows Marling’s ‘Reversal of the Muse’ podcast series, which focused on femininity in creative endeavours, and her 2015 album ‘Short Movie’, which TGTF touched upon here and here.

Tickets for the following shows will be available for general sale this Friday, the 2nd of December. You can also buy tickets now with pre-orders of ‘Semper Femina’ on Marling’s official Web site. Oxfordshire singer/songwriter Lewis Watson has announced his new album ‘midnight’ will be released on the 3rd of March 2017 on Cooking Vinyl. To celebrate the forthcoming release, he has unveiled ‘little light’ in the form of a 360-degree video, which you can watch at the bottom of this post. He’s also announced a long list of live dates in the UK for the rest of this year and in March and April 2017 to follow the LP’s release in the new year.
