London indie pop duo Summer Camp will play a run of live dates this autumn in support of their third album ‘Bad Love’, which is out now on Moshi Moshi.  The husband and wife pair, comprising Elizabeth Sankey and Jeremy Warmsley, produced ‘Bad Love’ on their own, after having worked with outside producers on their first two LPs.  Says Warmsley, “self-producing means you get the most direct expression of what you’re trying to do. It’s not filtered through anyone else.”

Tickets for the following shows are available now.  Just below the tour date listing, you can watch a live performance video of ‘Drive Past My House’, from the pair’s June show at the London Victoria. For past TGTF coverage of Summer Camp, click here.

Live Gig Video: Hidden Charms perform ‘Dreaming of Another Girl’ for Burberry Acoustic

By on Tuesday, 21st July 2015 at 4:00 pm

In Burberry’s ongoing series of acoustic sessions starring the well-dressed and well-heeled UK bands that turn their heads, young London four-piece Hidden Charms take their turn performing for an exclusive video. Like in their previous track ‘Sunnyside’ that we featured as a MP3 of the Day last summer, this performance of ‘Dreaming of Another Girl’ shows its bluesy, effortless cool (check out those shades!), even within the limitations of an acoustic performance. Watch the live performance below.

Live Gig Video: Mew perform ‘Witness’ around dancing fans in a club in Copenhagen

By on Thursday, 16th July 2015 at 4:00 pm

There’s been such a fuss following Danish band Mew everywhere this year and with good reason: ‘+-‘, their first album in 6 years, came out in April, much to the delight of their devoted fans. It never occurred to me that Mew were a headbanging-inducing type rock band until I saw this new video they’ve released, filmed during a fans-only show they did at Copenhagen Republique Theatre around the time of the release of the new LP. It’s dark and dingy and more ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ than you remember them, eh? Watch the performance in its sweaty glory below.

Live Gig Video: Arrows of Love performing at London Shapes in March 2015

By on Wednesday, 15th July 2015 at 4:00 pm

Down and dirty riot-punk band Arrows of Love have released this week a live performance video for your watching enjoyment. Back in March around the time they were tooling around Austin to showcase at SXSW 2015, wowing the stateside crowd, they also managed to fit in a series of UK dates, including a date at London Hackney Shapes. The video below lets you in on their sweaty, in your face live show experience.

Arrows of Love have announced an intimate show at London Camden Lock Tavern on the 1st of August where they will be showcasing new material. This gig will be followed by two more shows in the capital in the following weeks on the 20th of August and the 10th of September, but the details of these secret shows are yet to be announced. Stay tuned. For past coverage of Arrows of Love on TGTF, head this way.
