SXSW 2017 alumni from Norway Darling West will be releasing their third album in February. ‘While I Was Asleep’ will drop on the 16th of February on Jansen Records. To preview the upcoming long player, the Americana trio from Oslo have revealed the promo video for single ‘Loneliness’. The song would sit nicely with practically anything from the current American country music scene, which is pretty impressive, considering how far away Darling West are from.

Starring their four-legged friend Stella, it’s a classy promo with loads of what looks like Norwegian wood. Singer and banjo player Tor Egil Kreken explains the premise: “[The] ‘Loneliness’ was made by Norwegian movie director Jorunn Syversen. She came out with a fantastic film last year called Hoggeren, and one of our songs was in the movie. We really wanted to work with her, and she came up with the idea of shooting the video in a house designed by Norwegian architect Sverre Fehn. It was such a beautiful setting! The dog belongs to the people who live in the house, and he turned out to be a great actor.” You can’t argue with pooch perfection, can you? Watch the video below, and stay tuned for their new album in less than 3 weeks.
