Video of the Moment #2282: The Head and the Heart

Following on the success of their previous single ‘All We Ever Knew’, folk-pop group The Head and the Heart have released a kitschy, ’90s-style video for new track ‘Rhythm & Blues’. The band wanted to lighten the mood a bit after the reminiscent yearning of ‘All We Ever Knew’ (which we featured as our Video of the Moment # 2173 back in August of last year), so they recruited director Michael Reich and an eclectic team of Los Angeles-based actors to create a completely different kind of visual representation for ‘Rhythm & Blues’. In the promo video below, Reich equates the sweaty, squirmish anxiety of being in the spotlight on stage, performing to a jaded and potentially unreceptive audience, with the song’s lyrical theme of declaring your intentions in a romantic relationship.
Both ‘All We Ever Knew’ and new track ‘Rhythm & Blues’ appear on The Head and the Heart’s third album ‘Signs of Light’, which was released last September on Warner Bros. The Head and the Heart will spend much of this spring and summer on tour in North America; you can find their upcoming live dates on the band’s official Facebook.
