Video of the Moment #1888: Lana Del Rey

Love her or loathe her (I prefer the latter), Lana Del Rey does make for good, salacious news copy, doesn’t she? The pouty, controversial artist known at Elizabeth Grant to her parents just released this past week new single ‘High on the Beach’, and its accompanying video naturally stars what else? The beach, of course. And in this particular promo, it’s the famed location of Malibu where we find our…err…heroine.

I suppose what Lana wanted to do in this video is show that she relates to celebrities, pseudocelebrities and the Royal Family in that she too is hounded by the paparazzi. But it’s all about how you deal with said paparazzi. We here at TGTF don’t condone what happens in this video, but considering that her weapon of choice looks like something off of Tattoine, I think it’s safe to say we shouldn’t take Lana’s actions that seriously. Watch the promo video below.

The single for ‘High on the Beach’ is available now from Polydor Records. For all the fun we have with Lana Del Rey on TGTF, you can browse here.
