Video of the Moment #1817: Paul Smith and the Intimations

Following on from his 2010 debut solo album ‘Margins’, Maximo Park frontman Paul Smith (with his band The Intimations in tow) is back with his 4-year labour of love, ‘Contradictions’, which will be released in August on Billingham Records. Smith’s own description of the LP as “an alternative pop record that fulfils my own criteria” can also apply specifically to ‘Coney Island (4th of July)’, the kinetic first taster from the upcoming album. The artsy promo to go with the song that I’m sure Andy Warhol would have loved can be watched below.

‘Contradictions’ will be released on the 21st of August. Writings on Paul Smith’s work outside of Maximo Park on TGTF can be read through here.
