MP3 of the Day #879 (and more!): HEALTH

I generally go out of my way to avoid posting any music video that glorifies or shows excessive violence or is unnecessarily disgusting. However, I’m making an exception for the new promo from HEALTH, the Los Angeles experimental / noise / electro band who are releasing a new album after 6 long years. And especially since they’re offering it up a new song as a free download too!

The video for ‘New Coke’, the first taster from upcoming LP ‘Death Magic’ out the 7th of August on Fiction Records, has one particular scene that…well, let’s just say you probably shouldn’t watch this before having a meal. In fact, probably best if you press play on the YouTube embed below, then turn away and do something while the video is running. Of course, if you have a better stomach than I do – or indeed, you’re used to the inevitable outcome of a drunken night out (does this start to jog your memory a bit?), then maybe it won’t be so bad. If you like the song, you can go to their official Web site and get it for free in exchange for your email address.

HEALTH is playing a one-off show in the UK, at London Dome, on the 9th of June, with a presale going on today, Monday the 27th of April, on Songkick, with the general sale taking place on Wednesday the 29th of April.
