Video of the Moment #1728: Monarchy

Being a music editor, I’m always on the lookout for brand new bands, so there is a constant shifting and clearing out in my mind of acts that have gone off the radar, as we all know that bands may break up and/or real life may intrude and we never hear from them again, or at least not in the form we remember them in. So when bands return – or in the case of London-based electro duo Monarchy, make a great big noise ahead of a new release – it’s so nice to reminded that a band you liked a lot before is still around making awesome music.

Monarchy’s second album and follow-up to 2011’s ‘Around the Sun’ was financed by this ongoing Pledgemusic campaign, and now the duo are pleased to announce that ‘Abnocto’ will see the light of day on the 9th of March on their own label Hacan Sounds. Watch below for the LP’s first taste, this snappy, sexy little synth number ‘Dancing in the Corner’.
