Happy holidays from TGTF!

As we say goodbye to another year and I get ready to close up shop here at TGTF for the festive season, I want to personally thank each and every one of you for stopping by TGTF and reading what we’ve had to say. Since I took over as Editor in 2010, it’s come to my attention that as time has gone by, the sheer number of new music blogs that have popped up, sprouting quite often from someone’s bedroom or basement, has increased exponentially. Increased competition is good and bad. It’s the holidays, so I’m going to be positive and only point out the good: it’s good when it makes all of us up our game to compete with other sites on who will post the better article on Band X and we all become better journalists, right?

But more importantly, this increase in music blogs and sites has meant for you, dear reader, that you have many more choices on where to go for your music news, interviews with bands, single and album reviews, and gig and festival reviews. So it really means a lot that you have chosen to spend your time here at TGTF with us. I also want to thank the bands, management, press officers and label people who have helped me get the exclusives, review materials, press credentials, the whole lot so that we can continue to write and provide quality content to our readership. The folks that have stood by me and our site, and especially those who have given me much needed hugs and words of encouragement at crucial moments, you know who you are. You are all stars in my book. Happy Christmas to all. We’ll see you in the new year.
