Video of the Moment #342: Male Bonding

London’s Male Bonding have put together a bunch of clips from their recent tour of America, set to the tune of ‘All Things This Way’. What’s especially interesting about this video (for me, that is) are clips in here of their performance at the Middle East in Cambridge, Massachusetts on 28 September, where the band opened for Best Coast. Your humble editor was stood in the front row for this gig. Well, I was there until a bloke trying to crowdsurf – unsuccessfully many times, I might add – hit me in the head with his shoe and I decided to call it a night (and backed far, far away from the front).

When I explained what happened to Kevin Hendrick (bass) and Robin Christian (drums) afterwards, they were very apologetic and gave me a hug. When I saw this video, I recognised Robin’s shirt (white and turquoise stripes) from the Cambridge show and took a closer look – and yep, I recognised the two girls up in front who I’d made friends with while we were waiting for the show to start. I even see myself a couple times. Too funny. But I wanted to post this because the crowd reaction – well, at least in Cambridge – was amazing for this band, and it was completely deserved.
