She may be “obsessed with the mess that’s America,” but we here at TGTF are a bit obsessed with Marina and the Diamonds. Can you blame us, though? With an amazing voice, catchy songs and old hollywood looks, she’s poised to become a massive success this year. In the run-up to the release of her debut album, ‘The Family Jewels,’ due out 25th February, she has released a stunning acoustic rendition of ‘Hollywood’.

While the original song has a full, rich sound, the song loses nothing when it’s stripped down. With the minimal backing of only an acoustic guitar and a keyboard, it’s an even better showcase for her voice. And beyond that, the video is understated and simply gorgeous.

‘Hollywood’ is released on 1st February 2010.
