MP3 of the Day #143: Expatriate

Seems Australia is providing some pretty interesting bands at the moment. First the Temper Trap, and now this lot – Expatriate – who have just finished supporting Placebo on their European tour. Featuring aggressive soundscapes, like early Placebo but without the whine of Brian Molko’s voice. Anthemic, fists in the air sort of stuff that will doubtless be filling Academy 2 venues around the UK very soon.

Blackbird is released on March 1st, and their debut album, ‘In the Midst of This’ is released on the same day.

I had the chance to listen to them live past October in Paris, they opened Placebo’s concerts there, and I ended amazed! Seriously! Usually I have bad experiences when it comes to support groups, but Expatriate is one of the most youngest and talented band I’ve ever heard!

All the members have this charisma that makes you love them; Ben’s voice is just awesome and the attitude they have on stage, wow! I totally recommend this band!

Well done guys! Congratz!
Greetings from Mexico!
