If Green Man seems like your sort of thing, how does actually opening the festival sound to you? Well, the hunt is officially on to find the opening artist for Green Man Festival 2009. The winning act of Green Poll 2009 will take to the Main Stage on Friday August 21st, kicking off the bash in guaranteed style. Thousands of festival goers will be there to lap up your music as you share the bill with the likes of Animal Collective and Jarvis Cocker, plus you and your band are pretty much set to get loads of publicity from it all, so really, what’s there to lose?

To enter, register over at Green Poll’s microsite and then upload a YouTube video of you or your band performing one of your best tracks. Unsigned, or signed, anybody can enter Green Poll, but you only have till June 29th, so get your skates on as time’s speedily running out!

Green Man fans will have the chance to vote through their favourites artists, with the final six acts ultimately going through to a live Battle of the Bands competition at The Camden Monarch, London, on July 23rd. A panel of music industry experts will be there to judge the final, and the winner of said night will go on to open the Green Man Festival in August in true rock and roll style. So, if you think your ganna give this a go, good luck, and be sure to keep us updated here at TGTF.
