Bands To Watch #119: The Mission District

The latest sensation to hit the airwaves, The Mission District sound like they’re going to be the next “hot” band to be blasting out of your teenage sister’s bedroom.

Their blend of indie / emo / pop and a slice of light punk has gained them a lot of attention, with even Perez Hilton hyping the Canadian four piece from Montreal. About to go on the road around the UK with Elliot Minor, things look set to be going huge here as well as on the other side of the Atlantic.

Sounding like a mix between Metro Station and Good Charlotte (okay, okay, I don’t listen to much pop/punk to be able to classify it well), they have the sort of feel good bubble-rock that is perfect for the next huge teen film.

They’ve also got their own web-only TV series, Youth Games, which “tells the story of The Mission District’s road to pop stardom”, with new episodes weekly.
