Live Earth

Another year, another huge charity concert. Live Earth we’ve known about for a while, but the details were confirmed today, when a press release confirmed artists and ticketing arrangements. In London’s Wembley Stadium on July 7th we have the wonders of:

The Beastie Boys
Foo Fighters,
Duran Duran,
Snow Patrol
Razorlight
Madonna
Genesis
James Blunt
Red Hot Chili Peppers
The Black Eyed Peas
Bloc Party
Corinne Bailey Rae
Keane

I know I’m not one to decide what makes a good line up and what doesn’t, but its a rather varied line up… I’m not sure that all the bands are deserving to be there, but still, it will be a fab event I’m sure.

Tickets for the UK show will be allocated by a ballot and fans must register their interest online for 72 hours from 1200 BST (1100 GMT) on Friday. Tickets, priced £55, will be limited to two per person and can be bought from 18 April.

Tickets will be able to be registered for here on Friday, and the official website with more details is here.

Expect lots of rantings from me on this subject in coming weeks and months!

There Goes The Fear is where we tell you about the latest music, gigs, and tours we love and think you should too.

We love music that has its heart on its sleeve, tells a story, swims around our head all day or makes us dance like no-one's watching.

TGTF is edited by Mary Chang, who is based in Washington, DC. She is joined by writers in England, America and Ireland. It began as a UK music blog by Phil Singer in 2005.

All MP3s are posted with the permission of the artists or their representatives and are for sampling only. Like the music? Buy it.
