Video of the Moment #2423: Wolf Alice

Wolf Alice will be releasing their sophomore album at the end of September. ‘Visions of a Life’, the follow-up to 2015’s ‘My Life is Cool’, will be out on Dirty Hit Records on the 29th of September. They’ve already previewed the upcoming long player with the confrontational ‘Yuk Foo’, and now they have a promo video for ‘Don’t Delete the Kisses’. Yes, it is just as it sounds, a millennial anthem on love. Interestingly, it’s the polar opposite of ‘Yuk Foo’, so you don’t have to turn the sound down on this. Catch them on tour in the UK and Ireland in November. For more of our past coverage here on TGTF on Wolf Alice, use this link.

Video of the Moment #2124: Wolf Alice

Okay, okay. You got me. After what happened in Britain overnight Thursday into Friday, I had not just some, but a lot of trouble concentrating this weekend. A lot of drinks were had and a lot of sleeping was done. It’s Tuesday now, and we’re starting to get back to normal here at TGTF Towers, which is good…

It’s hard to believe that Wolf Alice‘s debut album ‘My Love is Cool’ was released a year ago. However, it will be difficult to forget its existence. It’s done so well, a special box set of the album is scheduled for release on the 19th of August on Dirty Hit Records. It will include a gatefold double 12″ of the album, pressed on heavyweight vinyl; both the ‘Creature Songs’ and ‘Blush’ 10″ EPs; a 10-track CD of demos, b-sides and rarities; a hardback photo book with 40 pages of rare photos of the band; and a photo booth strip of the photos of the band used in the artwork for the album.

As part of the celebration of this upcoming release, the band have released the animated promo for ‘Lisbon’, by Eat the Danger. Watch the video for ‘Lisbon’ below; the special box set, priced at 60 quid, can be preordered now directly from Dirty Hit. For more coverage of Wolf Alice, go here.

Live Gig Video: watch Wolf Alice play ‘Fluffy’, ‘Turn to Dust’ and ‘Bros’ at a NPR Tiny Desk Concert

Just a few days ago, the Washington, DC, headquarters of National Public Radio (that’s NPR to you, most likely) released a live session video starring Wolf Alice. They were taking part in what has become a long and storied tradition of the NPR Tiny Desk Concert series. In this video, they play their tracks ‘Fluffy’, ‘Turn to Dust’ and ‘Bros’. All three numbers figure prominently on the band’s debut album released last summer on Dirty Hit Records, ‘My Love is Cool’.

Video of the Moment #1962: Wolf Alice

For those of you who didn’t know, Wolf Alice started out as an acoustic duo, naming themselves after a short story retelling of Little Red Riding Hood by the late English novelist Angela Carter. So it’s not too far of a stretch of the imagination that their new video for ‘Freazy’ has a fantasy theme, the promo beginning with the band playing in what looks like a overly Technicolor alpine forest. The video morphs – literally – the visuals oozing across your screen like a bad trip. I mean, come on. Giant blocks of cheese AND giant mushrooms?

‘Freazy’ appears on Wolf Alice’s debut album on Dirty Hit Records, which was released in the summer. Watch the video below. Past coverage of Wolf Alice on TGTF is this way.
