Cancellations galore

Kaiser Chiefs’ Ricky WilsonWhat is it with bands cancelling US tours at the moment?

The Kaiser Chiefs, White Stripes, Justin Timberlake and now The Noisettes have all cancelled and or postponed dates in the USA in the last 24 hours – all a bit strange.

Kaisers “want to work on new album“, White Stripes’ Meg has anxiety issues, Justin needs to rest his voice and has postponed two shows, and now the Noisettes plain and simply need a break.

One does wonder if it’s just ‘cos they’re wimps – a big tour scare them too much instead of the usual one night on three nights off of a British arena tour? (joke)

White StripesAs many people are aware, The White Stripes are headlining the first night of the O2 Wireless Festival in london on Thursday night next week, and then Leeds on the Friday night. However, as a warm up for this they announced today that they’ll also be playing a one off date in London on Tuesday night at the Rivoli Ballroom as a warm up.

Profits from the performance will go to the Chelsea Pensioners’ Appeal and The London Pearly Kings And Queens Society.

Tickets go on sale on Monday morning at 10am reportedly from see tickets and livenation outlets.
