The Pigeon Detectives, Fratellis, Zutons and CSS have all been announced to be headlining their own three night UK and Ireland tours for MTV as part of their “Brand Spanking New” tours. Some of the best names and up and coming names in the music biz will be making their way around the country, playing venues smaller than they normally do. So be sure to get your tickets when they go on sale on Friday (7th March) at 9am.

Clearly fans of the bigger tour, Pigeon Detectives have announced a new UK tour for next May and June around the UK, starting off with two massive nights at Leeds’ Millenium Square for a homecoming of sorts.

The brilliant Mencap have announced this year’s “Little Noise Sessions”, a series of intimate, acoustic gigs, which will take place from Tuesday 20th November to Wednesday 28 November 2007, at Islington’s Union Chapel in London. They’ll be hosted by Radio 1 DJ Jo Whiley.
To get tickets you’ll have to register here to get tickets when they go on sale. Ticket registration opens on Tuesday 2 October and closes at 12.00 Friday 19 October. Those who have registered can then buy tickets online on a first-come-first-served basis from 9am on Monday 22 October. Tickets are £35 each.
The gigs will raise money for Mencap’s Arts Awards scheme which enables children and young people with a learning disability to take part in local arts projects.

Current indie darlings The Pigeon Detectives and GoodBooks are set to play a special show during London Fashion Week.
The bands will appear with Malvern singer/songwriter Sam Isaac at Gibson Guitar Studio on Tuesday 18th September as part of ‘The Big British Sound’ series of events.

If you don’t win tickets it’ll be shown on MTV Two on Saturday 13th October at 9pm as part of their ‘Best of British’ night.

Those lovely people at iTunes have set up their own “festival” in the centre of London to take place at London’s Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) throughout July, with a raft of the best in current bands playing each night.
iTunes will be recording each of the shows and are planning to make songs from the shows available via their music shop. The ICA holds about 350 people, making the shows exceptionally intimate.
