Video of the Moment #2295: Depeche Mode

By on Tuesday, 14th February 2017 at 6:00 pm

Dark electronic stalwarts Depeche Mode caused kids from the Eighties to get hot and bothered earlier this month when they revealed brand new music, their first since 2013’s ‘Delta Machine’. ‘Where’s the Revolution’ is of course tailor-made for these times, the 2017 counterpart to Muse‘s ‘Resistance’. In this new song, Dave Gahan and co. seems to be mocking, even berating political junkies, saying they’ve been let down by those who are courageous enough to act and indeed, rebel. The accompanying video, directed by longtime collaborator Anton Corbijn, shows the band’s disgust in front of the proletariat and empty displays of propaganda. Food for thought. The single is a preview of ‘Spirit’, their upcoming album out the 17th of March on Columbia Records.

Depeche Mode‘s new video for ‘Should Be Higher’ is a live feature filmed by longtime collaborator Anton Corbijn. There’s a hell lot of skin showing for a couple of ageing ’80s icons, but I guess I shouldn’t judge. Watch it below.

Video(s) of the Moment #1165: Depeche Mode

Depeche Mode‘s latest album ‘Delta Machine’ was released last Monday (the 25th of March), and it’s causing a major rift in Depeche fans. The latest video from the band fronted by Dave Gahan is for the song ‘Soothe My Soul’, and thankfully, it’s at least an upbeat, groovier number than previously proffered snoozer ‘Heaven’. Also included below is a video via Rolling Stone of the making of ‘Delta Machine’, which is pretty interesting, if you’re a fan or even if you’re not.

Depeche Mode‘s new single ‘Heaven’ will be released on the 18th of March on Columbia Records, a week ahead of their next album ‘Delta Machine’ scheduled for release on the 25th of March. The single was written by principal Depeche songwriter Martin Gore, and it’s an oozy and slow number. Watch the video below.
