After a wonderful summer of music festivals, it’s already time to start booking your tickets and buying your wellies for next year.  Despite the mud bath that was Bestival 2008, Rob Da Bank and the rest of his team are positive about next years festival and have released the ‘Early Bird special’ tickets today.

The Festival will take place at Robin Hill, Isle of White, starting Friday the 11th of September and coming to an end on the 13th.  For a limited period only, the fast and furious can buy a bargain adult ticket for just £120.  Not a bad price at for three days of music and mud.

Visit the Bestival web site for more information.

Just a quick one for all you Baby Shambles fans out there, ever on the look out for Pete and his musical movements.

After the recent cancellation of the Wiltshire based festival Moonfest left many Baby Shambles fans wondering when they would next see their beloved Pete Doherty up on stage, it appears you have to wonder no more.

John Green, the man behind the Moonfest, has booked the Baby Shambles for one night only at the Brixton Academy to give all those disappointed devotees another chance to witness the emotional rock ‘n’ roll show that is the Baby Shambles.

The gig will take place within the next six weeks but unfortunately will only be welcoming those who had tickets to the cancelled Moonfest.

The date is yet to be set so so keep an eye on the Tickets Alerts section to find out exactly when the gig will be taking place.

Bands to Watch #29: Wave Machines

Bands to Watch #29: Wave Machines

With the end of the world nearing fast and the future of humanity staring into a Swedish black hole, I thought it would be a great opportunity to sing the praises of a band I’ve really enjoyed listening to over the last few months!

In the mix of this wonderful feel good indie summer, the superb Liverpudlians, Wave Machines, have been spilling their beautifully melodic, electro pop charm all over the UK.  As well as a jammed packed summer, the boys still managed to release their ultra catchy debut single, ‘I Go, I Go, I Go’.

It’s hard to describe the exact sound this band where intending when they first got together in January 2007, but what they have come up with is a perfect mix of dancable rhythm and soft electric melody that will sink into your brain along with the comforting vocals on first listen.

The boys have already been crowned winners of Zane Lowe’s ‘Fresh Meet’ slot on Radio 1 and described by NME as “Liverpool’s best kept secret”.  Don’t be suprised if you soon find yourself throwing uncontrolable shapes to the hypnotic sounds of the Wave Machines on every indie dance floor!

The list was found on the official Oasis blog, where Noel states, “This means the Top 10 bands of all time. No solo artists allowed. No female artists allowed. No collectives allowed (Public Enemy etc.).

I think we could have all guessed the first one:

4: Sex Pistols
5: The Kinks
6: The La’s
7: Pink Floyd
8: The Bee Gees
9: The Specials
