Video of the Moment #2817: Stars

Which band is the latest to turn to a dancier feel? Montreal long-standing electropop band Stars, that’s who. Their newest single ‘Ship to Shore’ is an agile study in dance pop. As you might expect for a song with a title like that, its accompanying video has ocean-themed clips, in Super 8 style so there’s an overall aged effect on the proceedings. Watch it below. No word yet on a new album to follow last year’s ‘There is No Love in Fluorescent Light’, but if I were a betting woman, ‘Ship to Shore’ is probably a taster of what’s to come. The group begin the first leg of a North American tour on 12 April in New Brunswick, Canada that runs through April; a second leg begins in June on the West Coast of Canada, ending 27 June in Houston. They’re also announced to appear at Lollapalooza in August. Watch the video below. For more of our past coverage on Stars, go here.
