MP3 of the Day #902: Orbital

If you’re an electronic fan, I bet you have already heard about this. As a public service, however, especially knowing that many of you regular TGTF readers out there identify as primarily indie pop/rock fans, I thought you should know that Orbital are back! Back in February, they released ‘Kinetic’, their first music in 5 years, since the release of the ‘Wonky’ LP.

This summer, they have returned with another new track, and one they have made free to all. We’re not sure if ‘Copenhagen’ is a signal that a new album from Phil and Paul Hartnoll is on the horizon. For now, I can say for myself that I’m just chuffed they’ve released new material, and it’s a banger. Listen to and grab it for your very own from the Soundcloud embed below. To see them live, they’ve only got two indoor shows for the rest of 2017: the 1st of December at Manchester Apollo, followed by the 2nd of December at London Hammersmith Apollo. To catch up on more of our past coverage of Orbital that is, well, a bit aged to say the least, go here.

About Us

There Goes The Fear is where we tell you about the latest music, gigs, and tours we love and think you should too.

We love music that has its heart on its sleeve, tells a story, swims around our head all day or makes us dance like no-one's watching.

TGTF is edited by Mary Chang, who is based in Washington, DC. She is joined by writers in England, America and Ireland. It began as a UK music blog by Phil Singer in 2005.

All MP3s are posted with the permission of the artists or their representatives and are for sampling only. Like the music? Buy it. If you want a track removed, email us and we'll sort it ASAP.
