Video of the Moment #2393: Cymbals Eat Guitars

This time last year, we shared a seasonally appropriate video from Cymbals Eat Guitars. At the time, the New York City rockers were previewing upcoming album ‘Pretty Years’ with ‘4th of July, Philadelphia (SANDY)’. (You can read Steven’s review of the 2016 LP here.)

This year, after what many of us here consider a horrific result to the presidential election last November, it’s understandable that the majority of musicians in this country feel like there needs to be a useful response to what is happening here. Enter the group’s video for ‘Have a Heart’, which interspersed footage of well-meaning protesters holding signs with the song title on them and between, well, questionably footage starring our Commander-in-Chief. ‘Have a Heart’ features on ‘Pretty Years’, which is out now on Sinderlyn. We’ve written a fair bit in the past on Cymbals Eat Guitars, and you can read it all here on TGTF through here.

About Us

There Goes The Fear is where we tell you about the latest music, gigs, and tours we love and think you should too.

We love music that has its heart on its sleeve, tells a story, swims around our head all day or makes us dance like no-one's watching.

TGTF is edited by Mary Chang, who is based in Washington, DC. She is joined by writers in England, America and Ireland. It began as a UK music blog by Phil Singer in 2005.

All MP3s are posted with the permission of the artists or their representatives and are for sampling only. Like the music? Buy it. If you want a track removed, email us and we'll sort it ASAP.
