In this installment, we’ve got Andy Parmley, lead axeman of Stockton band Young Rebel Set answering the legendary TGTF Quickfire Questions. Who his favourite writer might surprise you. (To be honest, I’m not sure if he’s being straight with us or he’s taking the mickey…) His alternative career to music will make you smile too. Read on…

What song is your earliest musical memory?
Listening to some Motown on the old vinyl player.

What was your favourite song as a child?
‘Any Major Dude Will Tell You’ by Steely Dan.

What song makes you laugh?
Anything by that whining turd Bieber.

What song makes you cry?
Anything by that whining turd Bieber.

What song reminds you of the first time you fell in love? (It’s up to you if you want this to be sweet, naughty, etc.)
‘She Loves You’ by The Beatles.

What song makes you think of being upset / angry? (Example: maybe you heard it when you were angry with someone and it’s still with you, and/or something that calms you down when you’re upset, etc.)
‘Songbird’ by Fleetwood Mac is an incredibly moving piece of work. A superb 3 minutes and 19 seconds.

Which song (any song written in the last century) do you wish you’d written yourself?
‘Someday’ by The Strokes. The perfect pop song.

Who is your favourite writer? (This can be a songwriter or ANY kind of writer.)
Him who penned the bible was some writer eh? Belting imagination.

If you hadn’t become a singer/musician/songwriter/etc., what job do you think you’d be doing right now?
Without a shadow of a doubt, a male model. Definitely. That, or I guess I could have ran a successful paper merchants in Slough.

If God said you were allowed to bring only one album with you to Heaven, which would it be and why? (Sorry, but double albums do not count.)
Fleetwood Mac – ‘Rumours’

Cheers Andy!
