Live Gig Video: POP ETC covers Whitney Houston’s ‘How Will I Know’ on a walk through Tokyo

POP ETC were formerly known as the Morning Benders until they changed their name to something that didn’t have homophobic undertones in the UK (wha?) moved from San Francisco to Brooklyn (where else but the indie capital of the world?), lost their bassist (amicably) and decided to become an electro-tinged pop act. Ok…

And if you didn’t know about their new direction, their latest video filmed in Tokyo should give you some clue. Frontman Chris Chu, who sent girls squealing the last time they sold out the Black Cat in Washington so I heard, is contemplating out loud – er, singing – his take on the late Whitney Houston’s big ’80s hit ‘How Will I Know’. It’s too bad that she’s no longer around, because I’d really like to hear her opinion on his rework. Watch the video for the cover below.
