Editor’s note: do not adjust your screen. Yes, we’re airing some of our (and some of your!) favourite song guilty pleasures in video form this Jubilee weekend. The bands were featuring are largely not the kind we write about here on TGTF, but we wanted to do something new and cool over this 4-day weekend. Come along for the crazy ride and enjoy.

Last year James were busy touring with a full orchestra and choir, but lest us not forget this little song released on Rough Trade in 1989 (yes, 1989…my eyes were agog when I saw the date). Is it about drugs? Depression? Finding God? For sure, it’s the kind of song you’d probably feel most at home singing along whilst drunk, swaying to the beat surrounded by your similarly inebriated mates in the pub. Props to Tim Booth et al.

About Us

There Goes The Fear is where we tell you about the latest music, gigs, and tours we love and think you should too.

We love music that has its heart on its sleeve, tells a story, swims around our head all day or makes us dance like no-one's watching.

TGTF is edited by Mary Chang, who is based in Washington, DC. She is joined by writers in England, America and Ireland. It began as a UK music blog by Phil Singer in 2005.

All MP3s are posted with the permission of the artists or their representatives and are for sampling only. Like the music? Buy it. If you want a track removed, email us and we'll sort it ASAP.
