Editor’s note: do not adjust your screen. Yes, we’re airing some of our (and some of your!) favourite song guilty pleasures in video form this Jubilee weekend. The bands were featuring are largely not the kind we write about here on TGTF, but we wanted to do something new and cool over this 4-day weekend. Come along for the crazy ride and enjoy.

Ever wondered how a city gets built on rock ‘n’ roll? I’m not being facetious, this was actually the subject of a song in 1985 by Starship, a relatively short-lived offshoot of the ’60s’ Jefferson Airplane and ensuing ’70s band Jefferson Starship. Thanks to Ben for the suggestion. Evidently, not at all influential music magazine Blender put this on their Top ’50 Most Awesomely Bad Songs Ever’ but the link to Blender’s Web site is broken. That’s suspect…

About Us

There Goes The Fear is where we tell you about the latest tours, gigs, and music we love and think you should too.

We love music that has its heart on its sleeve, tells a story, swims around our head all day or makes us dance like idiots.

The blog is edited by Mary Chang, who is based in Washington DC. She is joined by writers in the UK and America. It was started up by Phil Singer in Bristol, UK.

All MP3s are posted with the permission of the artists or their representatives and are for sampling only. Like the music? Buy it. If you want a track removed, email us and we'll sort it ASAP.
