Video(s) of the Moment #679: LCD Soundsystem

LCD Soundsystem is, if you recall, now defunct. (I think I know some people who are still in the red after going up to see them play Madison Square Garden one last time in 2011.) However, that didn’t stop them from finally making a video for their cover of Franz Ferdinand‘s ‘Live Alone’, a song they recorded for a special Record Store Day release. Trust James Murphy to make this sleazy song even sleazier. To help you recall the original, I’ve also embedded below Franz’s live performance of the song at Oxford Street HMV in 2009. (Yes. That was over 2 years ago. Yes. Where have all the years gone? We are getting old.)

About Us

There Goes The Fear is where we tell you about the latest tours, gigs, and music we love and think you should too.

We love music that has its heart on its sleeve, tells a story, swims around our head all day or makes us dance like idiots.

The blog is edited by Mary Chang, who is based in Washington DC. She is joined by writers in the UK and America. It was started up by Phil Singer in Bristol, UK.

All MP3s are posted with the permission of the artists or their representatives and are for sampling only. Like the music? Buy it. If you want a track removed, email us and we'll sort it ASAP.
