Single Review: Twin Atlantic – Edit Me

Looking for a Valentine’s present for your hard rock lovin’ sweetie? Glaswegian rock band Twin Atlantic have you covered. We profiled the band as a Bands to Watch nearly a a year and a half ago, and now they are set to release their next single, ‘Edit Me’, on the 14th of February. While they’ve toured as support for fellow Scots Biffy Clyro in the past, I like the more melodic sound of this band.
Screaming, relentless guitars and Sam McTrusty’s urgent vocals in ‘Edit Me’ make this a fun song, in a head-banging sort of way. It definitely sounds like the kind of song that could reverberate around stadiums as punters sing along, so they’ve got a song that will work on a massive scale crowd level, if and when they get there.
Their debut album, ‘Free’, is due out in the spring, and the band are currently on their first headlining tour of the UK: the full listing of dates is available here on TGTF. Sounds like an exciting tour, if what McTrusty says is anything to go on:
We are really looking forward to this tour. We have supported so many bands over the last year with next to no headline shows and that has made us really miss the vibe and community of our wee fan base. This is us getting back to what we do best and it is only made all the better that we have just finished recording our debut full-length album. We will be playing some new songs that define the new direction for us, and we can’t wait to let people hear what we have been working on. To top it off, it’ll be great to be back on the road with Tom DeLonge and Angels and Airwaves for the shows in Europe.
8/10
