MP3 of the Moment #145: Nneka

By Phil Singer on Wednesday, 3rd February 2010 at 10:00 am

The daughter of a Nigerian father and a German mother, Nneka Egbuna was born in Warri, Oil City in the Delta region of Nigeria at the height of its new found wealth in the mid 70’s, she has a great sound both reminiscent of Lauryn Hill, Mary J Blige and Gnarls Barkley and other legendary American RnB artists, but with a nice new European take on things, based on her recent years spent in Germany.

Her single Heartbeats has already spent a while in the UK top 20, and this is another ace song off of her new compilation, Concrete Jungle, which pulls together material from her last three albums.
