MP3 of the Day #106: Cory Chisel and the Wandering Sons

Surely a band that lists their influences on their MySpace as being ‘the birds and the bees, dark wine and dry gin, deciduous forests, songs, and stories’ deserves a closer look. And so we have here ‘Born Again’, a track from self-described Americana act Cory Chisel and the Wandering Sons‘ debut album (released by Black Seal Records) entitled ‘Death Won’t Send a Letter’. Listen to it and you tell me, it kind of sounds like a slower, sultrier ‘Walk of Life’ by Dire Straits, does it not? I think it’s beauteous. One better, you can also see the life-affirming promo video below too.
