Truly Beautiful Disaster – Luxury Living EP

These electro pioneers have been generating bucketloads of hype since arriving on the scene as resident DJs at London’s Proud Galleries. Thier EP, which arrived here at TGTF a while back is a CD which looks like a vinyl :O Thought that was genius?? wait til you stick it in. The opener is heavy with bass which maintains it’s composure without breaching into all out dubstep and maintaing the boys electro roots. The atmospheric vibe brings a bit of fabric into your living room, your headphones buzzing with excitement (and the more obvious dub).

‘Mirandah’s Verandah’ is more of the same elcectro cut’n’stick with a synth chorus and a couple decent breakdowns. Again the balance is spot on, staying in their electro territory yet flirting with drum’n’bass and dickteasing dubstep all at the same time. The track fades out brilliantly to bring a calm end to a hectic and epic work of hogworts-worthy electro wizardry. The Pelifics remix later on does well to reinvent the track, the harder beat at the beginning and bassier synth makes you feel as though they ought to save this for Star Wars: The Musical.

The beating drums on ‘E.E.N.’ start off a softer track with more physcedelic influences and fusions of trance. Glowsticks at the ready whether you prefer the old rave or the new there’s at least one track on this EP which can unite the fledging rivals. The high pitched vocals ensure they’re not overbearing and again the synth-clad breakdown takes the limelight.

All in all the EP is well crafted and should convert even the most sceptical of electronic muso’s to the ways of the keyboard. These guys are ones to look out for in the very near future, with the explosion of electronic music and the reemerging popularity of many long lost acts  (The Prodigy, Pendulum, etc.) these guys have a shoe in to make a massive success of themselves.
