You remember ‘Intimacy Remixed,’ the collection of “that will just about do” remixes scrambled together by Kele & Co. earlier this year? Funny thing is the best Bloc Party remix of the year (Sekklow’s rendition of Biko) wasn’t featured. ’tis a pity really. This rising stars been busy giving the dubstep treatment to everyone from Kings of Leon to X Factor contestants. Strange yet it always works, especially when you least expect it to (a dubstep remix of The Others??)
This mix is a wonderful journey through everything sub-bass, the transition between the tracks is subtle and easy on the ears, masterfully mixed to flow like poetry as Sekklow delivers classics like ‘Bread Get Bun’ mixed with his own reworks (Wire to Wire, Closer, Use Somebody) and creations (Undercurrent). What’s more is that he takes Dub to new territory, exploring indie-Dub, dub’n'bass and more through 23 carefully chosen tracks.
