Bands To Watch #82: The New 1920

The New 1920 (side)The New 1920 are ready to rock the world all over with their no messing sound. Currently supporting fighting with wire the band are making all the right noises and have been compared to as a cross between Lostprophets and Sum 41.If consistent uptempo rock with chanty choruses is what you are looking for then The New 1920 are for you.

The band are surely on the fringe of success as an album is close to being delivered which I personally can’t wait for. The guitar playing is quite literally electric with ripping melodies and crashing drums also featuring in every track. This all lays own a brillant foundation for the vocals that are dispatched with great style and character from lead singer Colin Francies.

So far all the material I’ve heard from the band could be recommended especially tracks like “Torpedo Libido” which displays the fierce tone the band posess whilst they show off their rhythmic talent in other songs like “Amber Gambler” which in my view is their most complete song to date.  I’m also confident that the album will be a great debut for the band as other tracks like “Head for the Exit” are solid hard hitting rock anthems that will have you humming along for weeks.

I’m not sure the band will be headlining festivals and have the press following them everywhere in a few years time but they will certantly be a great addition to anyones music collection by adding a little spark and flare.
